Professor Roland Wilson - Chief Scientific Officer

Professor Roland Wilson is one of the world's foremost experts in image processing and leads one of the UK's largest image processing groups, at the University of Warwick. He has conducted image processing research at an international level for more than 30 years, publishing over 130 papers, and supervising 20 PhD students to completion. He has been at Warwick for 20 years and directs a group of 20 staff. Previously, he held a lectureship at the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Birmingham. He was jointly awarded the 1985 Pattern Recognition Society medal for best paper in the journal Pattern Recognition. He is a Chartered Engineer, a Chartered Mathematician, and a fellow of the Institute for Mathematics and its applications.

Quentin Compton-Bishop - Non-Executive Director

Quentin Compton-Bishop has over 17 years’ of international business development experience within early-stage technology companies, including 11 years as CEO before joining Warwick Ventures in 2011. In recent years Quentin has worked in the renewable energy sector, setting up the National Energy Foundation’s Communities Fund for early-stage community-owned sustainable energy projects. Previously, he was CEO of two materials technology companies, P2i and RolaTube Technology (now RTL Materials). He has also spent a number of years in California working with start-up software businesses. During this period he has raised over £5 million in seed and early-stage investment funding. Quentin has an MA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, an MBA from Cranfield University and is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Andrew Hegarty - Non-Executive Director

Andrew began his career as a corporate financier in 1994 with HSBC Investment Bank, and was involved in numerous public market transactions including IPOs, capital raisings, and M&A. He left in 1999 to join Hanson Capital, a privately-owned investment and advisory firm, based in London and Los Angeles, which specialised in early-stage situations and principal investing. In 2001, he joined Touchstone Securities, an independent advisory boutique, based in London, which provided high-level corporate finance advice to large corporates, private families and institutions. In 2003 he became a principal at P&P Partners, a private family office with £150m under management, where he was responsible for private equity and direct investment.  Since 2006 Andrew has been a Director of Synergis Technologies, the UK arm of venture investment firm Porton Capital, where he acts as an investor director on a number of Porton’s portfolio companies, including Cellcrypt, Enigma Diagnostics, Hydroventuri, P2i, Smart Holograms and Warwick Warp.
