Warwick Warp Technology Receives STQC Certification

We are delighted to announce today that our fingerprint feature extractor has been certified by the Standardisation Testing and Quality Certification (STQC) Directorate, an office of the Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) of India.

This certification was obtained in cooperation with and through the determined efforts of Anaxee Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Warwick Warp’s strategic partner in India.

STQC certification is a requirement for biometric authentication in India’s Unique Identification (UIDAI) project. The Warwick Warp feature extractor will be used with a fingerprint scanner for Aadhaar Authentication.  This STQC certification provides confidence that Warwick Warp’s technologies meet the project’s requirements. The goal of the UIDAI project is to issue every Indian resident a unique identification number which they can use to identify themselves to access a host of benefits and services. In addition to STQC certification, Warwick Warp’s technology has also been certified under the PIV / MINEX compliance programme by the United States’ National Institute for Standards and Technology.

"I was delighted when I heard we had received STQC certification and I am extremely grateful to Anaxee for their assistance in helping us achieve this important milestone.” said Stewart Hefferman, CEO of Warwick Warp. "Warwick Warp continually strives to deliver high quality fingerprint matching software and obtaining STQC certification, so soon after our MINEX and PIV certification, will open up exciting new opportunities for our partners and demonstrates our continued investment in R&D."

Govind Agrawal, CEO of Anaxee Technologies said, “We are happy to partner with Warwick Warp and achieve this certification. We have been very active with UIDAI for Authentication and this STQC certification will boost our partnership with Warwick Warp.  Warwick Warp technology is especially useful with low quality fingerprints, common throughout the Indian population, and also works well on wet, oily, dirty, and mehendi fingers. This superiority was proven in FRR Field Testing conducted by UIDAI-STQC-CDAC where the combination of Warwick Warp feature extractor and a Futronic FS88 gave exceptional accuracy.  Because of this enhanced accuracy with poor quality fingers, Warwick Warp is being deployed in multiple government and non-government projects in India.”
